This mural project, organized by the Elgin County Museum and supported by the Donna Vera Evans Bushell Estate, will feature murals installed at various public sites along the Elgin Country Bike Route. My mural is 92 square-feet, and focuses on the bicycle as a symbol of independence for children. Many people remember their first bicycles as playing a role in establishing a sense of freedom and responsibility during childhood, allowing them to meet up with friends and explore neighbourhoods. Utilizing the aesthetic of 80s movie posters, the design and colour palette are meant to evoke feelings of nostalgia.
